DEADLINE FOR PLACING REFERENDA ON NOVEMBER BALLOT FAST APPROACHING This year's General Election will be held on November 6, 2012. In order for a unit of local government to place a public question on the ballot at that election, the governing board must adopt a resolution or ordinance no later than Monday, August 20, 2012. The secretary or clerk of the unit of local government must then certify the question to the election authority no later than Thursday, August 30, 2012.
