Support for LWCF Needed
Grassroots efforts are still needed to advocate for a 40% allocation to the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) State Assistance Program. One way for local governing boards to articulate the importance of LWCF to Congress is by adopting a resolution supporting a 40% allocation to the State Assistance program.
A template of a resolution is available by clicking here.Specific information about LWCF projects in your park district, forest preserve district or conservation district should be added in the blanks provided.
Please consider adopting this resolution and sending it to your representatives in Congress. A directory of the Illinois Congressional delegation is available by clicking here. Once approved, please also send a copy of your agency's resolution to Jason Anselment, Legal/Legislative Counsel for the IAPD, at email@example.com so we may include it in the advocacy materials we take to Capitol Hill during the National Legislative Forum on Parks and Recreation to be held in Washington D.C. March 16-18, 2011.
