2013 Flying 4 Kids Statewide Kite Fly

The IAPD coordinates Flying 4 Kids kite fly events during April and May. This statewide kite fly enlists the promotional assistance of the American Kitefliers Association and attracts thousands of families, kite enthusiasts and media at park districts, forest preserves, conservation, recreational and special recreation agencies throughout the state.

The goal of the kite fly is to raise awareness of the Park District Youth License Plate, which features a colorful kite, a symbol of youth and recreation. Twenty-five dollars from the sale and subsequent renewal of each plate is placed into a special grant fund for youth beyond-school programming at Illinois park, recreation and conservation agencies.

Kite flies are held in April and May and is attended by approximately 6,000 to 10,000 people statewide.

Flying 4 Kids attracts the general public, kite club members, elected officials, media and professional staff at Illinois park districts, forest preserves, conservation, recreation and special recreation agencies

Statewide Presenting Sponsor

Your company can be a Presenting Sponsor of the statewide kite fly held during April and May at multiple locations throughout Illinois.

Sponsor Value:

  • Company may offer product sampling and display at select Flying 4 Kids events throughout Illinois. IAPD will coordinate this effort with company representative(s).
  • Company logo included on IAPD event signage at all locations.
  • Company receives Presenting Sponsor recognition in Illinois Parks & Recreation magazine (6,000 circulation).
  • Company recognized in statewide IAPD news release sent to more than 100 Illinois media outlets.
  • Company premiums provided by company and available for distribution to attendees at agreed event locations. (Quantity based on estimated attendance at agreed event locations.)
  • Company logo included on all IAPD print and electronic materials, including promotional flyers, event registration forms, event planner's guide and website.
  • Company recognized in IAPD pre-event mailings (3,000-6,000 direct mail pieces.)
  • Article and link to your website in e-News (2,700 circulation); logo and link to your website at (400,000 hits per month); and logo and link to your website on 2-3 IAPD pre-event email blasts (sent to 2,700 each time).
  • Company recognized in the IAPD Annual Report that is distributed to agency members, directors, board members and corporate members.
